3rd Trimester - 29 Week Update
My 29 week appointment went well. My blood pressure was a little high at the beginning of the appointment but back to normal at the end. The nurse said it was due to the flight of stairs that I took to get to the clinic. I was given permission to start taking the elevator. Not that I needed permission, rather a reminder. My weight gain was much lower this time and I’m measuring exactly at 29 weeks. It was a good check up and I’m still so relieved that things are progressing as normal. Even my doctor can’t believe I’m 29 weeks already. I’m still in shock when I read that I only have 11 weeks remaining.
Enough with the not-so-fun stuff and on to the more exciting things.
I had the new Turtle Mocha cooler at Cari.bou yesterday morning. It was so delicious that I went and got another this morning. I’m hooked on all 530 calories.
Tucker is a smart pup. He’s adjusted to my random sleeping patterns. Every time I return from the bathroom in the middle of the night he knows I’m going to switch sides and he moves to the most convenient sleeping spot. We’ve worked out a good system.
We attended the Saturday express birth preparation class last weekend. Our instructor was very engaging and informative. Christos and I enjoyed it. I’m proud to say Christos and I never once nodded off, unlike the couples sitting next to us.
The month of May is knocking on the door and it’s going to be busier than April. (Deep cleansing breath.)
Belly Button update: Still an innie.
Don’t forget to place your guess in the baby poll!

Spring has Sprung - 27 Weeks
Thank you to all who posted their guesses on the online baby poll. It's fun to see what everyone thinks. If you haven't guessed yet, please do!
27 Week Belly Shot
The window shade Mom and I made for the nursery turned out great and I'm super excited about it.
Lastly, Christos' new 'toys' arrived last week. He's been having fun trying them out and making room for everything in the garage.

Online Nugget Poll
To make this blog even more interactive, I've created an online baby pool. See the Expect.net logo with the cute teddy bear above? Enter your guess for Nugget's birth stats there. You never know, you may be right. And maybe we'll name him/her after you (doubtful). Or maybe we'll have a small gift for the person who's guess is the closest.
Come on. It'll be fun!

26 Weeks
Notice how well the color matches Mom and Dad's sheets from the 70's? Nice!
I’ve been slowly checking things off of my many To Do lists. I don’t know if we’ll get everything done, but I sure hope so. With Christos’ lawn care business starting up, his free time will be crunched. So I’ve been trying to take advantage of his availability while I can.
Our bowling team finished in 3rd place out of 16 teams. We had a rough final game, but it was still fun. We’re planning to play again in the fall.
Nugget is swimming along; becoming more and more active each day. I’m feeling good (although Christos says I complain a lot.) I’m slowing down and taking my time getting around. All in all, I’ve been lucky to not be sick or bed ridden. I hope it stays that way for the next 14 weeks. I got some good news and some not-so-great news at the doctor this morning. The good news is I passed the glucose screen. Wahoo! I was worried the fluid they made me drink would make me sick, but it actually tasted really good. I'd only had a hard boiled egg for breakfast so the sweetness of the lemon drink hit the spot. I almost asked for a second helping. I have my Dad's sweet tooth. The not-so-great news is that I've gained 9 lbs since my last visit 4 weeks ago. I know gaining weight during pregnancy is to be expected. And I assure you that if it weren't for my weak heart I wouldn't be concerned with gaining weight. Hopefully I can maintain a steady gain over the next three months and my body and heart will be able to keep up. Thankfully it's getting nice outside so I foresee more doggie walks in the future.
25 Weeks - I swear I look bigger than this in real life.
