Week 32

My cardiology appointment went well yesterday. The echocardiogram shows no additional leakage than the 38% that the MRI showed back in March. Although it still puts me in the high risk category, it is a good sign that it hasn’t gotten worse. Unless my status changes, I don’t need to see him again until after I deliver. Woot Woot!

My 32 week check up was in the afternoon and everything is looking good. I’m up another 10 lbs (Oh My!), which brings my current grand total to 30 lbs. I’m measuring right on target and Nugget is positioned head down. My blood pressure is good and I’ve had no swelling. We did a stress test because Nugget wasn’t very active on Sunday (likely due to the anxiety of my appointments). Everything sounded good and it was cool to hear his/her heartbeat for 20 minutes. I’ll be seeing the perinatologist in the next couple of weeks for a third opinion on where to deliver. It’s still being discussed at this point. One doctor says Abbott while the other says North Memorial. Ultimately, it’s our decision. We just need more information to make the right choice for us.

I’m getting pretty big and random strangers keeping making comments to me about how I look like I’m ready to pop. I don't agree, but I have noticed that I’m sitting further from my computer and bending over more at the sink. I’m definitely slowing down, but still have my moments where I need to remind myself that I’m pregnant. For example the days that I run up the steps two at a time.

June will be here in a flash and there is plenty more to do. Stay tuned.

Belly Button Status: Still an innie.

Week 31

Notice the new header my friend and photographer, Jessica, made. Isn't it awesome??

I know, I know. I’ve been a bad blogger. Haven’t I mentioned that we’ve been busy?
I’ll rewind back to week 30. I had my first baby shower the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. My Aunt Susan and my cousin’s wives, Amanda and Jennifer hosted. It was a lovely day and I enjoyed seeing many of the special women in my life. I’ve posted a few pictures below.

Things are progressing and Nugget is moving more and more each day. S/he never wants to move for Daddy though. Christos is already pride fully saying he has a “calming effect.” Let’s hope that continues after Nugget arrives.

Week 32 is creeping up on me. (By the time this post is published I'll already be 32 weeks.) This stage of pregnancy isn’t quite what I imagined, then again I’m not sure I knew what to expect. I feel good and have started to nest at home. Since we’re still waiting for most of the nursery furniture, I’ve started to do some spring cleaning. Spring cleaning is over-rated, but it needs to be done because fall cleaning will sneak up on me quicker than I know.

The gender guessing game is all tied up. 16 readers think it's a girl, and 16 readers think it's a boy. I'm just thrilled I have 32 readers! The ExpectNet.com results don't match up though. That means there are more of you that haven't placed your guess. It's not too late!

30 Weeks!

Three quarters of the way baked. 30 weeks is a big milestone in this journey. Although I’m moving slow, the days are flying by.

The pelvic pain has improved since last week, but it’s not completely gone. My cold has passed. Nugget is moving consistently and becoming more violent with her/his kicks.

The nursery is at a stand still. We’re waiting for the crib to be delivered. I’m still trying to decide what to do about a rocker/recliner/glider.

Christos continues to be exteremly busy working on the landscaping in the neighborhood. It’s a big job and much more time consuming than he imagined. I’m certain it will be beautiful once he’s done.

The most exciting thing that we’ve done recently was a maternity photoshoot with my friend Jessica. She is a freelance photographer that captures beautiful natural light images. I’m excited to share these pictures with you. We are thrilled with how they turned out and will cherish them forever. Thank you Jess!
