35 Weeks - Aches and Pains

I’ve slowed down considerably over the past week. The weight of the baby is taking its toll on my feet, back and hips. Don’t quote me on this, but after how much my body has changed in the past week, I have a feeling Nugget will be here sooner rather than later. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those women that is ready for this to be all over. I’m still really enjoying being pregnant, as I have this entire time. Thankfully I have the flexibility to work from home, so I’ve been able to focus on taking it easy and drinking lots of fluids. At my appointment this week I should learn how far I’ve progressed. Braxton Hicks contractions (aka TBs or Toni Braxtons) have become more frequent, but not consistent. As quickly as I start keeping track of them they subside. When I look down at my belly it doesn’t seem very big, but when I catch my reflection in a mirror or window I think “Whose body is that?”

The pups definitely know something is up. They are so sweet and smart. Sugar hasn’t left my side for the past few weeks. She even plopped down in the middle of the garden bed when I was planting hostas a few weekends ago. I wish I had the energy and stamina to play with and walk them like I used to be able to.

I made more progress on the nursery this past weekend. Lots of organizing, washing and we finally purchased an awesome glider. I’m really excited about it. We still don’t have a crib though. I’ve inconveniently learned by ordering custom from the Amish that there is no guarantee it will arrive when expected. Thankfully we have a few other sleeping options for Nugget.

Christos is scrambling to stay on top of the landscaping in the neighborhood. Just as he finishes one project another pops up. It’s been a huge undertaking (more work than he imagined), but the common areas in our neighborhood look better than they ever have. He’s really busting his butt. Hopefully I’ll get my husband back before too long.

  2. If Sugar is anything like Mollie...she will know when you are in labor. Mollie wouldn't leave my side and was so intune with what was going on.
